Freedom

A tight ropewalker strung a cable between two buildings in New York. His words, I feel I belong to the sky when out on the tightrope I have the feeling of absolute freedom. I breathe slowly and enjoy the miracle of balance. I realized that earlier I had the feeling of fear but no longer, the fear of letting go and then I laughed at it. I am at complete peace on the wire! Out there on the middle of wire I drop to one knee and give the salute of the tightrope walker. There at my feet below is all of New York. Why does he do it? It’s the feeling of complete freedom. Is he crazy some think so?

Do you have guilt and shame of others expectations? Do you judge one another? Do you put stumbling blocks in front of one another to further yourself? Are you free or are you locked in chains or in the harness of life?

Once you have the feeling of freedom you will never go back. No longer do you have to fear what people say or do, it no longer bothers you! Live and breathe life! Live your life with love and compassion.

Like the tightrope walker his feeling of freedom trumped the short time he spent in jail. No one could take away his short time of feeling, complete freedom.

Freedom in liberty, freedom in the country is one thing but don’t flaunt it. What is most important is freedom of the spirit! Which is the only true freedom one can have.

  1. Not just any two buildings either, the very top of the World Trade Center Towers, what an amazing movie 'man on wire' about what happened there, I was spellbound watching it.
